Northern circuit
Tarangire
Two hours from Arusha and routinely skipped by travellers in a hurry. In the dry months the river pulls in elephant herds hundreds strong beneath baobabs older than the country.
How we route it
We use Tarangire as the opening act of the northern circuit — two nights on the way in, based south of the main gate where the day-tripper traffic thins out entirely.
What sets it apart
Night drives and walking safaris are permitted in the neighbouring concessions, which is rare in the north. It is also the best park in Tanzania for birds — over five hundred recorded species.
From the field

Pair it with

Serengeti
Endless plains, resident prides and the migration's yearly turn. Where you stay matters more than how long you stay.

Ngorongoro
A collapsed caldera holding its own ecosystem. We time the descent early, before the crater floor fills with vehicles.

Kilimanjaro
Africa's roof, approached on routes chosen for acclimatisation rather than speed. Meru makes a fine warm-up.
Plan with us
Tell us when you can travel. We'll tell you where the good light is.
Every itinerary is drawn by hand in our Arusha office — routing, pacing, camps and honest budget ranges. One conversation is usually enough to know whether we're the right fit.
