Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Met at Kilimanjaro Airport and transferred to your lodge. Trip briefing with your guide over dinner.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire
Tarangire
Morning drive to Tarangire for an afternoon game drive among baobabs and the park's famous elephant herds.

Day 3: Tarangire to Serengeti
Serengeti
Cross the Ngorongoro highlands into the Serengeti, arriving for a late-afternoon game drive as the light softens.

Day 4: Serengeti — the migration

Full day following the herds, with a picnic lunch in the field. Optional sunrise balloon flight.

Descend at dawn for a full crater day — lion, elephant, flamingo and, with luck, black rhino — before returning towards Arusha.

Questions about this safari.
When is the best time for this route?
The herds move all year. From December to March they calve in the southern Serengeti, from June to July they gather in the Western Corridor, and from August to October the river crossings happen in the north. We plan your Serengeti nights around where the herds are in your month.
What vehicle will we use?
A private 4x4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof, a fridge and charging ports, driven by your own professional guide. The vehicle is yours for the whole safari, so you can stop for as long as you like.
Can we change the days or add Zanzibar?
Yes. Every day can be re-paced, upgraded or swapped, and a Zanzibar beach extension can be added at the end. Tell us your dates and we will redraw the route for you.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes. Because every safari is private, we can shorten drives, add rest time and choose family rooms. See our child-friendly safari page for more ideas.
