Day by day
Day 1: Arusha to Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro
Leave Arusha after breakfast and drive to the Ngorongoro highlands. Descend into the crater for an afternoon game drive among elephants, lions, zebras and flamingos, then climb to your lodge on the rim for sunset.
Overnight: Ngorongoro highlands
Day 2: Ngorongoro to Serengeti
Serengeti
After breakfast, drive across the highlands and into the Serengeti. Game drive on arrival as the afternoon light stretches across the plains, then settle into your camp for a night under the stars.

Day 3: Full day in the Serengeti
Serengeti
A full day on the Serengeti plains. Morning and afternoon game drives, picnic lunch in the bush, and time to sit with the herds and predators without rushing.

Day 4: Sunrise game drive and departure
Arusha
Wake early for a final sunrise game drive — the plains at first light are unforgettable. After breakfast, drive back to Arusha for your onward flight or transfer to the airport.

Questions about this safari.
When is the best time for this route?
The Crater is good all year because the wildlife lives there permanently. For the Serengeti, June to October is dry with excellent game viewing, and December to March brings calving season in the south.
What vehicle will we use?
A private 4x4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof, a fridge and charging ports, driven by your own professional guide. The vehicle is yours for the whole safari, so you can stop for as long as you like.
Can we change the days or add Zanzibar?
Yes. Every day can be re-paced, upgraded or swapped, and a Zanzibar beach extension can be added at the end. Tell us your dates and we will redraw the route for you.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes, as the safari is private we can adjust the pace. Some days include long drives between the parks, so for young children a longer version with more rest time often works better.
