Masai Mara: the northern half of the same story

One ecosystem, two countries. We plan Kenya the way we plan Tanzania — by season, by camp position, and by the guide who will be with you every morning.

Crossings from the Kenyan side

From late July the herds push north over the Mara River. Camps in the Mara Triangle and the conservancies put you within a short drive of the crossing points before the vehicles arrive.

Conservancies over crowds

We favour the private conservancies bordering the reserve: fewer vehicles at a sighting, night drives and walking permitted, and a direct benefit to the Maasai landowners.

Combined with Tanzania

Most guests pair the Mara with the northern circuit. We handle the border crossing or the light-aircraft hop and the paperwork that comes with it.

Plan with us

Tell us when you can travel. We'll tell you where the good light is.

Every itinerary is drawn by hand in our Arusha office — routing, pacing, camps and honest budget ranges. One conversation is usually enough to know whether we're the right fit.
