Safari in Tanzania

Everything you need to know before your Tanzanian adventure. Where should you go? What will you see? When is the best time to visit? We’ll help you understand it all.

Where should you go?

Three landscapes, one seamless journey.

Tanzania’s northern circuit brings very different habitats close together. Your route should follow the season, your interests and the pace you want — not a fixed schedule.

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park

Vast plains, resident big cats and the Great Migration. We choose the right area of the park for your travel month, so your time is spent close to the wildlife rather than crossing long distances.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater

A remarkable volcanic landscape with an exceptional concentration of wildlife. Descend early for quieter sightings of lion, elephant, buffalo, hippo and, with some luck, black rhino.

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

Ancient baobabs, large elephant herds and a quieter rhythm. Tarangire is especially rewarding in the dry season, when animals gather around the river and waterholes.

What will you see?

Lion, elephant, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, hippo and many more — always wild, always on nature’s schedule.

How will you travel?

Privately, with your own guide and vehicle. Each day can slow down, start earlier or change focus around what interests you most.

Who looks after you?

Our Arusha team plans your route personally and remains reachable from your arrival until your final airport transfer.

When is the best time?

Tanzania is a year-round destination.

The best month depends on what you want to experience. We match your route and camps to the wildlife season rather than promising one answer for every traveller.

January – March
Calving season in the southern Serengeti, with green landscapes and intense predator activity.
June – October
Dry-season game viewing, comfortable days and the northern Serengeti river-crossing period.
November – December
Short rains bring fresh colour, migratory birds and returning herds, often with fewer vehicles.
