Machame Route
Known as the Whiskey route for good reason. Machame climbs hard and rewards with the most dramatic scenery on the mountain. We run it over seven days rather than six, because six is where most failed summits come from.
Day by day
Steep moorland climb to Shira camp at 3,850m.
Lava Tower high point, then descend to Barranco.
Barranco Wall scramble to Karanga camp.
Short ascent to Barafu base camp and an early night.
Summit night to Uhuru Peak, descend to Mweka camp.
Forest descent to Mweka gate, certificates, transfer to Arusha.
