Nairobi or Nanyuki to Old Moses camp through the Sirimon forest.

5 days · Point Lenana · 4,985m
Mount Kenya · Sirimon–Chogoria
Point Lenana is reached on foot, but at nearly 5,000m it is altitude that decides the day. We take five days rather than three, ascend Sirimon for the gentle profile and descend Chogoria through the tarns and the gorge.
Day by day
Across the Mackinder Valley to Shipton's camp, with an afternoon acclimatisation walk.
Rest and acclimatisation day below the main peaks.
Pre-dawn start for Point Lenana at sunrise, then down to Mintos on the Chogoria side.
Out through the Chogoria gorge and bamboo forest, transfer onward.
